Vents can be an ideal environment for a range of pests and vermin, which can lead to a host of health and safety concerns. From diseases carried by rats, mice, and other vermin, to the problems of an insect infestation. Most vent systems are protected from rodents and insects by screens and grills that keep them out, however older systems that have been poorly maintained can be vulnerable, as are improperly installed systems.

Obviously in the case of any infestation you would want to bring in a competent and qualified pest control expert to handle the extermination. However, once the infestation itself is dealt with, it is important to clear any remains out of the vents quickly.

Of course, any infestation that isn't dealt with will result in the problems getting much worse.
